ACCS SIG: Project Management SIG
Building on the momentum from the Pre-Conference session, let’s continue to explore concepts in Project and Portfolio Management. Last time we talked about how to build momentum in this community, let’s touch on this briefly and then dive into topics. This session is facilitated, but driven by your content needs and desires. Come with your “How do you do this?” and “How do you handle that?” questions for your fellow project managers in higher education. All are welcome – Seasoned project managers, beginners, those who attended the pre-conference training, and those who did not. You will have a chance to put faces to names and build a network to help you in current and future projects.

A few topics that could be interesting include: Project Recovery Practices; Lessons Learned/Retrospectives; Agile/Scaled Agile Framework; the Future of IT Project Management; Business Analysis and its crossover with Project Management; Resource Planning; Estimation; Project Governance; Project Management and ITIL

ACCS SIG: Networked Learning Collaborative of Virginia (NLCVA) SIG - Topic: IT's Challenges in Supporting the Online Distant Instructor and Learner
The purpose of this SIG session is to share with and gather important information from ACCS attendees who must plan, procure, implement and support the myriad technologies used in online distance learning at the institutions represented. The Networked Learning Collaborative of Virginia will use the information gathered to understand and help address the challenges faced by IT administrators, technical staff and helpdesk support when dealing with students and in some cases, faculty, who never physically visit the campus. The following questions will be used to generate discussion:

• What are your challenges in providing and supporting technology for completely online students?
• What are your challenges in providing and supporting technology for completely online online faculty?
• Are there special technology requirements your institution has for distance learning?
• What policies are in place—or you wish were in place – to ease the burden of supporting the online distant instructor and learner?

NLCVA (https://nlcvirginia.org) is a membership-based learning technology federation of fourteen Virginia public and private colleges, universities and organizations. The goal of the NLCVA is to advance the academic missions and learning technology activities of member institutions through knowledge sharing, leveraged resources, and collaboration on innovative programs and ideas.
