The Internet of Things, or IOT, is a massive buzz word in and around IT. The first thing that many think about with IT is a smart refrigerator, smart washing machine, or maybe even a smart car. However, there is much more to IOT than those things. Educational institutions have the possibility of leveraging IOT in a similar way to how they may leverage virtualization and cloud - to decrease costs and increase capabilities inside and outside of IT. Additionally, IOT is not only an IT discussion - it has the potential to impact entire aspects of an organization. This session will address all of the above as well as identify how to get started on your institutions IOT journey.
