Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In the fall of 2016 a user clicked on a zip file in an email which started the encryption of an entire Departmental NAS Share. The Virginia Tech Provost Desktop Support Office intends to share what happened, what did not happen and what should have happened during the first 24 hours of this incident. We then wish to facilitate discussion of others experiences with prevention and recovery from ransomware.

Proposed Meeting Outcomes:
• Understanding of what Ransomware looks like and how it works
• Preventative actions to reduce the risks from ransomware
• Recovery stages from ransomware incidents
• Lessons Learned from ransomware attacks
