Email was great in 90’s, but modern IT workers don’t have the time or patience for that mode of communication anymore. Modern tools like Slack allow IT organizations to operate more efficiently and openly, providing opportunities for rapid resolution.
Since incorporating Slack into its daily operations, Shenandoah University Institutional Computing has seen massive decreases in time wasted on email and significant gains in productivity and problem resolution times.
This session will cover how IC has used the tool to cut down on email, provide communication during outages and emergency situations, manage projects, as well provide a more open platform for information exchange. Future plans and next steps for the tool will also be discussed. With integrations like video and audio calls, Skype, Google Docs, and many other bots, this tool can be the one to rule them all!
