Information security has been around for a long time, but throughout its history you can see that the defense has fallen behind the offense quite often. As a whole information security has been more reactive than proactive. How can this change? Through the concept of ontological design we will examine where information security has been and where it is now. Then we will observe through the looking-glass self on how information security is perceived. Finally provide some guidance on improvements to information security for now and into the future with the help of cognitive play, flow states, and active design.
